EN10028 16Mo3 pressure vessel steel

EN10028 16Mo3 pressure vessel steel

16Mo3 is a EN10028 specified pressure vessel grade chrome molybdenum steel alloy for use in elevated working temperatures.

The material is used as a weld able steel in the fabrication of industrial boilers and steel pressure vessel found in the oil, gas and chemical industry. Due to the materials chrome and molybdenum content, 16Mo3 has excellent heat resistance and corrosion resistant characteristics.

16Mo3 steel is a pressure vessel steel that is used in applications with elevated temperatures according to EN 10028–2. It has improved mechanical properties and better creep resistance allowing it to be used up to 500°C. This makes it ideal for a wide range of uses where the plates will have to perform at a high temperature continuously.
