A brief introduction to shipbuilding steel plate
The working environment of ships is extremely harsh, and the external hull of a ship has to withstand the corrosion of seawater, the corrosion of marine organisms and microorganisms, and the impact of large waves and alternating loads. In addition, the shape of the ship makes its processing technology more complicated, so the requirements for shipbuilding steel plate are extremely strict.
Good toughness is the most critical feature of shipbuilding steel plate. On the other hand, shipbuilding steel plate requires high strength, good corrosion resistance, excellent welding performance, processing and forming performance and surface quality.
In order to ensure the quality and sufficient toughness, the shipbuilding steel plate requires the content of the two metal elements of chromium and manganese to be above 2.5%, and there are strict requirements on the content ratio of the carbon metal element.
