Mechanical Properties and Applications of JIS G 4051 Steels

JIS G 4051 carbon steels are known for their stable mechanical properties and excellent machinability. They are commonly used in parts that require medium strength and good surface finish.
S15C has low carbon content, offering good weldability and formability. It is used in cold-formed parts and low-stress applications. S35C and S45C are suitable for shafts and rods that require higher tensile strength. S55C, with higher carbon, is often heat-treated to improve wear resistance.
