Overview of S355J2+N Heavy Steel Plates
S355J2+N is a widely used structural steel grade in Europe, known for its excellent strength, weldability, and low-temperature impact toughness. The “+N” indicates that the plate is supplied in a normalized condition, improving its mechanical properties and internal grain structure.S355J2+N heavy plates are typically used in steel structures, bridges, offshore platforms, cranes, and construction machinery. They offer a minimum yield strength of 355 MPa, and the “J2” designation means that the material has passed a 27J impact test at -20°C, making it suitable for cold environments.
These plates are available in a wide range of thicknesses—often from 6mm up to 150mm or more—and can be supplied with mill certificates according to EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2. In addition, S355J2+N plates can be further processed through cutting, drilling, welding, or CNC machining depending on the application needs.
Due to its reliability and cost-efficiency, S355J2+N remains one of the most popular choices in the European and global steel markets.
