H13 die steel delivery status and mechanical properties

H13 die steel delivery status and mechanical propertiesH13 belongs to hot work die steel, which is formed by adding alloying elements on the basis of carbon steel. The standard GB/T1299 is implemented.

H13 steel corresponding grade: 4Cr5MoSiV1
H13 die steel mechanical properties: hardness: annealed, 245-205HB, quenched, ≥50HRC

H13 steel is the most widely used and most representative hot work die steel, its main characteristics are
(1) It has high hardenability and high toughness;
(2) Excellent thermal crack resistance, can be water-cooled in the workplace;
(3) H13 steel has moderate wear resistance and can also use carburizing or nitriding process to improve its surface hardness, but slightly reduce its thermal crack resistance;
(4) Due to its low carbon content, the secondary hardening ability in tempering is poor;
(5) H13 die steel has softening resistance at higher temperatures, but the hardness decreases rapidly when the operating temperature is higher than 540℃ (1000°F) (that is, the working temperature is 540℃);
(6) The deformation of heat treatment is small;
(7) Moderate and high machinability;
(8) Moderate decarburization resistance.
More notably, it can also be used to make important components in the aviation industry.

H13 steel chemical composition:
C: 0.32-0.45, Si: 0.80-1.20, Mn: 0.20-0.50, Cr: 4.75-5.50, Mo: 1.10-1.75, V: 0.80-1.20, p≤0.030, S≤0.030

H13 die steel delivery status: quenching: 790 degrees ±15 degrees preheating, 1000 degrees (salt bath) or 1010 degrees (furnace controlled atmosphere)±6 degrees heating, holding for 5-15min air cooling, 550 degrees±6 degrees tempering ; Annealing, hot working.
