16MnD5 nuclear power steel plate equivalent to SA533GrBCL2 American standard steel plate

The application of 16MnD5 nuclear power steel plate:
16MnD5 steel plate is mainly used in the manufacture of evaporators, pressure regulators, pressure vessels, heads and support members in nuclear power projects.

16MnD5 steel plate delivery condition: delivered in the condition of quenching + tempering. PS: The specific delivery situation should be indicated in the MTC.

16MnD5 nuclear power steel plate chemical composition:
Molybdenum Mo: ≤0.150, Nickel Ni: ≤0.30, Copper Cu: ≤0.30, Sulfur S: ≤0.035, Phosphorus P: ≤0.035, Titanium Ti: ≤0.02
PS: The actual chemical composition is subject to the MTC.

16MnD5 steel plate mechanical properties:
Tensile strength σb (MPa): ≥1080
Yield strength σs (MPa): ≥930
Elongation δ5(%): ≥12
Section shortening rate ψ(%): ≥45
Impact energy Akv(J): ≥63
Impact resistance value αkv (J/cm2): ≥ 78
Hardness: ≤217HB

The ASME steel grade SA533 GrB CL2 corresponding to 16MnD5 is similar in function to 35CrMo steel. Because of the increased carbon and chromium content, its strength and hardenability are better than 35CrMo steel. After quenching and tempering, it has higher fatigue strength and repeated impact resistance, excellent low temperature impact toughness, no obvious temper brittleness, generally used after quenching and tempering, can be used to replace quenched and tempered steel with higher nickel content.
