16MnDR cryogenic vessel plate properties

16MnDR vessel plate is a kind of low temperature pressure vessel steel plate. 16Mn means that the carbon content in the steel plate is about 0.16%, and D and R are the first in the pinyin of “low” and “capacity”. Capital letters, D for low temperature, R- for pressure vessel. When the content of a certain chemical element in the steel is high, it needs to be marked in the material. For example, 1.6% manganese is written as 16Mn, and 16MnDR is used for steel plates for pressure vessels at -40℃.

Remarks on ingredients: Cr, Ni, Mo, and Cu are residual elements; in order to improve the performance of steel, trace elements such as V, Ti, Nb, RE can be added; Als can be replaced by Alt, at this time Alt≥0.02.

16MnDR plate technical requirements:
1. The size, shape and allowable deviation of the steel plate shall comply with the provisions of GB709.
2. The packaging, marking and quality certificate of the steel plate shall comply with the relevant provisions of GB247.
3. Quality control level: molten steel with high purity, extremely low impurity content, chemical composition in accordance with the latest implementation standard of GB 3531-2014.
