201 stainless steel is relatively hard, with a bit of rigidity, and it is easier to crack. 201 stainless steel, with certain acid and alkali resistance, high density, polished without bubbles, no pinholes, etc., is a high-quality material for the production of various watch cases and strap bottom covers. 201 stainless steel is mainly used to make decorative pipes, industrial pipes, and some shallow stretched products.

Food-grade stainless steel refers to the stainless steel material that meets the requirements of the "National Standard of the People's Republic of China/Stainless Steel Tableware Container Hygienic Standard" GB 9684-88, and its lead content is much lower than that of ordinary stainless steel.

201 stainless steel is not food-grade stainless steel. Many domestic manufacturers of this material contain a lot of heavy metals and are not suitable for food containers. 201 stainless steel is suitable for industrial processing, for example: 201 steel can be used for the outer layer of stainless steel cylindrical water tank or square combined stainless steel water tank for heat preservation.

In terms of the elements contained in 201 stainless steel, the composition of 201 is 17Cr-4.5Ni-6Mn-N, which is a Ni-saving steel and a substitute for 301 steel. Magnetic after cold working, 201 is high in manganese, the surface is very bright, high manganese content is easy to rust. Because 201 stainless steel contains manganese, if it is used for a long time, it will cause damage to the human body.
