Tensile yield strength and heat treatment of SA516 Gr415 vessel plate
SA516 Gr415 plate is an American standard pressure vessel steel plate, material name: carbon steel plate for medium and low temperature pressure vessels.
Trademark: SA516 Gr60N, SA516 Gr70N, A516 GR60 A516 GR70 for HIC+SSC test.
Execution specification: ASTM/ASME specification, this specification is mainly used to improve the notch resistance of steel plates for welded pressure vessels.
Tensile strength of SA516 Gr415 vessel plate:
SA516 material is divided into the following strength grades:

Heat treatment of SA516 Gr415 vessel plate: SA516Gr60 steel plate thickness ≤ 1.5in (40mm) is usually supplied in rolled condition, steel plate can also be normalized or stress relieved, or normalized and tempered. SA516Gr60 vessel plate thickness > 1.5in.( 40mm) should be normalized. If agreed by the purchaser, SA516 Gr55, SA516 Gr60, SA516 Gr70 allow to use a cooling rate greater than that in air to improve resistance, but the steel plate only needs to be subsequently tempered in the range of 1100-1300 degrees F (595-705).
