Brief introduction of S420ML steel plate

S420ML steel plate is a European standard high-strength structural steel plate, which belongs to rolling and weldable fine-grained structural steel. S420ML steel plate has outstanding mechanical properties and process properties, high hardenability, high fatigue strength, and high yield ratio, but the weldability is poor, and the plasticity due to cold deformation is relatively low.

1. The grade of S420ML steel plate indicates:
"S" means structural steel; "420" indicates that the yield strength value of the structural steel thickness less than 16mm is not less than 420MPa; "M" indicates the delivery condition of the steel, that is, thermomechanical rolling; "L" means to do the impact test with the temperature not lower than -50℃.

2. S420ML steel plate size, shape, weight and allowable error: the size, shape and allowable error of the steel plate should comply with the 2.2 rules in 2004 of EN10025-1.

3. The implementation standard of S420ML steel plate is EN10025 standard.

4. Chemical composition and mechanical properties of S420ML steel plate:

5. Delivery status of S420ML steel plate: the default delivery status is TMCP, and the delivery status can also be specified according to technical requirements.

6. Directional performance requirements of S420ML steel plate: Z15, Z25, Z35.

7. Conventional size of S420ML steel plate: thickness 1.2-600mm, width 1220-4200mm, length 5000-18000mm.

8. Use: S420ML steel plate has high strength and also has certain toughness, fatigue resistance, impact resistance, corrosion resistance, welding and easy processing. Suitable for heavy-duty components of welded structures used in ambient and cryogenic conditions, such as bridges, sluices, storage tanks, water supply tanks, etc.
